Alloy C 276 (UNS N10276\/ 2.4819) ist für seine Korrosionsbeständigkeit in einer Vielzahl korrosiver Medien bekannt. Der hohe Molybdängehalt sorgt für Beständigkeit gegen lokale Korrosion wie Lochfraß. Ein niedriger Kohlenstoffgehalt minimiert die Karbidausfällung während des Schweißens, um die Widerstandsfähigkeit der wärmebeeinflussten Zone der Schweißverbindung gegenüber interkristalliner Erosion aufrechtzuerhalten. Es wird in der chemischen Verarbeitung, bei der Kontrolle der Umweltverschmutzung, in der Zellstoff- und Papierindustrie, bei der industriellen und kommunalen Abfallbehandlung sowie bei der Rückgewinnung von „saurem“ Erdgas eingesetzt. Zu den Anwendungen in der Luftreinhaltung gehören Kaminauskleidungen, Kanäle, Klappen, Wäscher, Rauchgasnacherhitzer, Ventilatoren und Ventilatorschutzvorrichtungen. In der chemischen Verarbeitung wird die Legierung zur Herstellung von Bauteilen wie Wärmetauschern, Reaktionsgefäßen, Verdampfern und Übertragungsleitungen verwendet.
