Hastelloy

Hastelloy C-2000 Fastener, also known by many as Alloy C-2000, is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. The C-2000 fastener (UNS N06200) is unique among other Hastelloy alloys with approximately 1.6% copper added to its chemical composition. These properties make them ideal for applications such as heat exchangers and industrial reactors. Hastelloy C2000 fasteners combine the excellent resistance to oxidizing media of C276 with excellent resistance to non-oxidizing environments, making it a unique alloy for protecting chemical process equipment under a variety of conditions, including fluids contaminated with iron ions .

The distinguishing feature of Hastelloy B3 hex bolts is their ability to maintain excellent ductility during transient exposure to intermediate temperatures. Hastelloy B3 bolts are made of an alloy containing nickel and molybdenum. These bolts are resistant to corrosion, pitting and stress corrosion cracking. These bolts can also withstand a variety of acid binding environments, such as those containing sulfuric, acetic, formic, and phosphoric acids.

Hastelloy 276 bolts and fasteners are suitable for most chemical applications in the welded condition. However, it should be noted that in environments where C-276 alloy weld joints are subject to attack, C-22 weld filler material should be considered. Hastelloy C276 socket head cap screws also have excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900¡ãF.

The primary alloy base materials for Hastelloy C276 include metals such as nickel, molybdenum and chromium. In addition to these three metals, Hastelloy C276 fasteners also have tungsten added. It is well known that the addition of tungsten to superalloys can improve the corrosion resistance of alloys in various harsh environments. Hastelloy C-276 alloy has excellent resistance to a variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizing agents such as ferric and cupric chlorides, hot fouling media (organic and inorganic), chlorine, formic and acetic acid, acetic anhydride , seawater and brine solutions.

Hastelloy X alloy (UNS N06002; W.Nr. 2.4665) is a high temperature, matrix strengthened, NiCrFeMo alloy with excellent oxidation resistance and excellent Strength. Hastelloy X alloy is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy that provides excellent oxidation resistance and high temperature strength while still being easy to manufacture.

What distinguishes the Hastelloy B3 fastener from its predecessor is its excellent ductility during transient exposure to intermediate temperatures (i.e. machining, heat treatment) due to its lower carbon content. This nickel-molybdenum alloy is typically available in bar, wire, sheet and plate form. Hastelloy B-3 fasteners are commonly used in vacuum furnaces and petro/chemical production lines.

Inconel 600 flat washers are also non-magnetic and offer the perfect combination of high strength, hot and cold workability, and resistance to common forms of corrosion. Inconel Alloy 600 ferrules exhibit excellent toughness even at sub-zero temperatures and are suitable for use with most alkaline solutions and sulfides. To avoid stress corrosion cracking, Alloy 600 split washers are manufactured to be fully stress relieved prior to use.

Hastelloy C22, also known as Alloy C22, is a general purpose austenitic nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. High chromium content provides good oxidation resistance, while molybdenum and tungsten content provides good reduction resistance. Hastelloy C22 alloy also has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media, including wet chlorine and nitric acid-containing mixtures or oxidizing acids containing chloride ions.

Hastelloy C22 washers are composed of a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy that, like other high-nickel alloys, is highly ductile, making it easy to machine, weld, and fabricate into nuts, bolts, and screws. Hastelloy C-22 washers are made of Haynes International trademark alloy, also known as UNS N06022 or alloy 22 fasteners. C-22 fasteners are made from one of the more popular Hastelloy alloys. It is highly resistant to oxidizing/non-oxidizing chemicals, making it an excellent alloy for columns, heat exchangers and reactors in the chemical processing industry.

Hastelloy C22 machined gaskets also have the best resistance to environments that encounter reducing and oxidizing conditions in the process stream. Hastelloy C22 round washers can be welded, forged, hot upset and impact extruded. Typical chemical process industry (CPI) applications for Hastelloy C22 punch gaskets include reactors, heat exchangers and columns. Hastelloy C22 flat washers have excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, tool marks and weld heat affected zone erosion.

Some typical applications for Alloy C22 flat washers include equipment components in chemical and petrochemical organic chloride processes and processes using halide or acid catalysts. Alloy C22 round washers prevent oxidation and reduce water corrosion. Alloy C22 machined gaskets are used in chemical processing, expansion bellows and nuclear fuel processing, industrial equipment.

Hastelloy tubing is suitable for applications in the chemical processing, pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, petrochemical and power industries. Hastelloy piping is often specified for highly corrosive industrial applications and is often used in processes where chloride is a component.
