1.4462 DIN934 hex but duplex hex nut
The S31803 fastener series demonstrates the properties of ferritic and austenitic stainless steels. These fasteners exhibit excellent resistance to crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion in harsh environments. In addition, these are excellent in resistance to chloride and sulfide stress corrosion environments.
S31803 Nuts resist sulfide stress-induced corrosion and perform well in chloride environments. They are widely used in the chemical industry, for example in the nitric acid process. Machining of these fasteners is done using high speed or carbide tools. Additionally, these are hot worked in the temperature range of 954-1149 degrees Celsius, while cold working is done by standard methods.
