1mm 304 stainless steel coil

Grade 304 / 304L stainless steel has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The only difference between them is the carbon content. Type 304 has a maximum carbon of 0.07% .Type 304L has maximum carbon of 0.030 %. This range of carbon in the steels affects the corrosion resistance. 304 / 304L is available in sheet, sheet coil, plate, plate coil, round bar, processed flat bar and tubular products for further manufacturing.

AISI 304l 1.4307 plate is used for welded sections approximately 5mm and thicker. When comparing 304 and 304L stainless steels, the lower carbon content (0.03% maximum) avoids the formation of coarse chromium carbide particles at grain boundaries due to prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures during welding. AISI 304l 1.4307 plate may experience corrosion at grain boundaries due to sensitization after welding on these gauges. AISI 304l 1.4307 plate is generally suitable for lighter gauges.

Typical Applications for 304 and 304L Stainless Steel
304 stainless steel plate has a range of applications in different industries. Brewing and dairy equipment, evaporators, barrels, barrels, heat exchangers, hospital equipment, refrigeration components, chemical and food processing, shop accessories, countertops, kitchens, kitchen utensils, sinks, sinks, urinals, handrails, wash Dish Makers, Dryers, Ovens, Heating Plates, Air Conditioning Units, Gutter & Rain Supplies, Counters & Display Cases, Hot & Cold Food Bars, Commercial Oven Hoods, Beer Kegs.

AISI 304l 1.4307 plate contains 18% chromium, which makes it resistant to many corrosive environments. Its structure is austenitic because it contains 8% nickel. The very tough and ductile austenitic structure gives Grade 304L excellent formability and manufacturing characteristics.

In most applications, AISI 304l 1.4307 plate is used, and its corrosion resistance provides long-lasting appearance and service life. Easy to clean and keep the steel surface hygienic, making it suitable for a variety of uses.

When welding sections thicker than about 6mm, a low carbon version of 304L stainless steel may be required for full corrosion resistance. High temperature applications such as pressure vessels may require a guaranteed high carbon 304H stainless steel version.

Corrosion resistance
AISI 304l 1.4307 plate has excellent corrosion resistance in many environments.

304 stainless steel plate provides good service in atmospheric conditions and is resistant to most environments except marine conditions or industrial pollution. Optimum appearance is maintained where the design allows surfaces to be washed even by rain, or where the occasional dirt deposits are washed from steel.

In some cases, AISI 304l 1.4307 plate provides excellent service in drinking water. Pitting and crevice corrosion may occur at higher chloride levels, 200 ppm is acceptable as an upper limit.

AISI 304l 1.4307 plate sheet is generally not used in seawater due to the potential for crevice corrosion under sediment, sediment and biofouling.
