Astm A182 F51 flange is made up of carbon, chromium, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, nickel, nitrogen, molybdenum and iron.

The material has high strength values. The minimum yield strength is 450MPa and the minimum tensile strength is 620MPa, with 25% minimum elongation and 290HB Brinell hardness.

Supplied in the annealed condition, it has a yield strength of 80ksi (550Mpa), which is higher than most austenitic and duplex grades.

These grades of super duplex stainless steel fasteners are used when applications require excellent corrosion resistance and strength. Composed of nitrogen, molybdenum and chromium, they have excellent resistance to crevice corrosion and chloride pitting.

The standard duplex material consists of 22% chromium, 4.5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, manganese, silicon, nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon and sulfur. Duplex 2205 screws and other fasteners have minimum yield strengths up to 97ksi and minimum tensile strengths up to 131ksi. Duplex 2205 hex bolts are nearly twice as strong as austenitic grade steel bolts. They have higher mechanical properties, so 1.4462 alloy 2205 studs and other types of bolts can meet different specifications such as ASME SA 182, 240, 479, 789.

The high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel levels provide excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, and general corrosion.

ASME SA 479 Duplex Steel UNS S32205 Hex Bolts are commonly used in chemical processing, transportation and storage – pressure vessels, tanks, piping and heat exchangers. ASTM A479 Duplex Stainless Steel 1.4462 Bolts have excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, as well as excellent resistance to localized corrosion, including intergranular, pitting, and crevice corrosion.

Both ASME B16.5 and ASME B16.47 have endorsed pipe flanges made from a series of duplex stainless steel grades.

Duplex 2205 bolts (EN 1.4462) are made from an austenitic-ferritic stainless steel, which was designed to deliver higher strength and corrosion resistance than 300 series stainless steels. It helps users to avoid stress corrosion cracking that is typically seen with 316 and 317. Duplex 2205 bolts combine the qualities of stress corrosion cracking resistance and high strength derived from being a ferritic alloy along with its austenitic fabrication capabilities.

For duplex S31803 nuts, 2 minutes to 3 minutes per mm of wall thickness at temperatures around 1080 degrees Celsius is sufficient to achieve a balanced austenite/ferrite ratio. After annealing, it is recommended to cool these Duplex S32205 nuts as soon as possible.

ASTM A479 Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Nuts have excellent general corrosion resistance in a variety of aggressive chemicals including seawater and industrial acids. The microstructure of ASME SA 479 Duplex Steel UNS S32205 Hex Nuts consists of a mixture of austenitic and ferritic phases.
