ASTM A234 is the standard specification for pipe fittings of wrought carbon steel and alloy steel for moderate and high-temperature service. Carbon steel pipe fittings manufactured to ASMT A234 are usually furnished in butt-welding form in accordance with ASME B16.9 or ASME B16.49. There are two carbon steel grades: WPB and WPC, of which ASTM A234 WPB is mostly often used in pipeline industry. The A234 WPB butt-welding pipe fittings include elbows, bends, returns, tees, reducers, end caps, crosses, lap joint stub ends, nipples and couplings.
After forming at an elevated temperature, fittings are cooled to a temperature below the critical range under suitable conditions to prevent injurious defects caused by too rapid cooling, but in no case more rapidly than the cooling rate in still air. Heat treatment temperatures specified are metal (part) temperatures. Heat-treated fittings are to be treated according to paragraph 7 in Specification A960/A960M.

Type 317L is a molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel intended to provide improved corrosion resistance relative to Type 316L in highly corrosive process environments, particularly those containing chlorides or other halides. The low carbon permits Type 317L to be welded without sensitization to intergranular corrosion resulting from chromium carbide precipitation in the grain boundaries. Type 317L is non-magnetic in the annealed condition but may become slightly magnetic as a result of welding.

Alloy 400 has corrosion resistance, high strength and good weldability. Monel 400 has amazing mechanical properties at sub-zero temperatures. It has a melting point of 2370-2460¡ãF and is easily used at temperatures up to 1000¡ãF.

S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. Each metal is represented by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter represents the metal series, i.e. S for stainless steel.

For paper mill applications requiring lower alloy grades that do not have sufficient corrosion resistance. Based on a 22% chromium content, they have a combined austenitic:ferritic microstructure that provides greater strength, corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness.

The UNS S31803 (ASTM F51) specification has been largely superseded by UNS S32205 (1.4462, ASTM F60). This reflects their desire to maximize the alloy’s corrosion properties, thanks to the development of the AOD steelmaking process, which allows for tighter control of composition. In addition, it allows to influence the nitrogen addition level rather than just being present as a background element. Therefore, the highest performing duplex grades seek to maximize the content of chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and nitrogen (N).

Alloy B2 also has excellent resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking.

Incoloy 800 Welded Butt Welded Fittings also contain 1.50% manganese, 1% silicon and up to 0.75% copper. Incoloy Alloy 800HT 180 degree bend has excellent corrosion resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Typically, these Incoloy UNS N08800 seamless pipe fittings are heated in the temperature range of 648 degrees Celsius to 760 degrees Celsius.

Since 2008, due to the excellent corrosion resistance of dual-phase steel butt-welded pipe fittings, the market has been in high demand. It resists intergranular and crevice corrosion. It also shows significant pitting resistance. Chloride stress corrosion cracking is also easily handled with Duplex 2205 at 150 degrees Celsius.

Butt weld elbows in the Incoloy 825 series are one of the strongest and most versatile elbows types. These fittings can be easily attached to pipe because they have beveled ends that meet ASME B16.25. These elbows allow the module to create full penetration welds without any additional penetration or preparation. The fittings are welded according to the butt welding procedure, placing them on the assembly and welding in place. Welded connections in this range provide a strong and high-strength connection. These fittings are available in larger and stronger sizes compared to other grades of fittings.

Stainless steel tees are pipe fittings and pipe joints for branch pipes of the main pipeline. Stainless steel tee is divided into equal diameter and different diameter. The size of the connecting end of the equal-diameter tee is the same, the size of the main pipe of the reducing tee is the same, and the branch pipe is smaller than the main pipe. It is not useful in oxidizing acids, such as nitric acid and nitrous.
