Grade 150 threaded stainless steel fittings connect to medium pressure (300-999 psi) piping. Threaded fittings have threads on both ends of the connection. The female thread is on the inside of the fitting. The male threads are on the outside of the fitting and screw into the female threads. Threaded connections include NPT (National Pipe Thread) or BSPT (British Standard Pipe Cone) and use PTFE tape to secure the seal. Type 304 stainless steel is a chromium-nickel material that resists corrosion caused by water, heat, salt water, acids, minerals and peat soils. Type 316 stainless steel has a higher nickel content than 304 stainless steel, plus molybdenum for higher corrosion resistance.
