304 plate S30400 sheet high amounts of chromium and nickel
Stainless Steel 304 Sheet is made up of an austenitic stainless steel that has 18% chromium and 8% nickel in the composition.
304 stainless steel plate belongs to the austenitic stainless steel family and is one of the most versatile and widely used stainless steel plate varieties. ASTM A240 UNS S30400 stainless steel plate contains 18%-20% chromium, 8%-11% nickel and is a high strength material with excellent corrosion resistance. 304 stainless plate has good welding characteristics and usually does not require post-weld annealing to restore properties. Dimensionally accurate throughout the length, typical specifications for 304 and 304L stainless steel plate are ASTM A240, ASME SA 240.
SS 304 sheet has good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, food and beverages, and many organic and inorganic chemicals in moderately oxidizing to moderately reducing environments. DIN 1.4301 stainless steel is a high-strength material with excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for aerospace structures, pressure vessels, base plates, gussets, structural supports, and food and beverage industry applications.
