316 1.4401 hex bolt and nut stainless steel hex bolt
Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-containing grade, second only to 304 in importance in austenitic stainless steels. Compared to 304, molybdenum imparts better overall corrosion resistance to 316, especially higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.
SAE/ANSI/AISI 316 is the second most common/widely used stainless steel type after SAE/ANSI/AISI 304. Considered a versatile workhorse, the SS 304 can be a great success in most situations. However, while both are commonly used in industry, the SS AISI 316 is used in harsher environments.
It has excellent forming and welding characteristics. It is easily braked or rolled into various parts for use in industry, construction and transportation. Grade 316 also has excellent welding characteristics. Post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections.
