Astm A479 316 S316L 401 Stainless Steel Hollow Round Bar
ASTM A479 can be described as a standard specification for stainless steel bars. They are available in custom shapes and sizes for use in boilers and pressure vessels. The material specification is available in four grades including austenitic, austenitic-ferritic, ferritic and martensitic grades. They have good mechanical properties such as high tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, etc. These can be used for hot and cold working bars.

Product Description of 316L Round Bar
316 is an austenitic chrome nickel steel with superior corrosion resistance to that of other chrome nickel steels, which is widely used in applications when exposed to chemical corrodents, as well as marine astomosperes. Grade 316 stainless steel is differentiated by its molybdenum content, which supports its superior resilience against oxidation. Grade 316L is a reduced-carbon version of the standard 316 grade, and is recommended for applications demanding sensitization immunity. It has excellent forming and welding characteristics. The balanced austenitic structure of Grade 316l enables it to be severely deep drawn without intermediate annealing.
316 stainless steel rod has a wide variety of uses, including natural gas/petroleum/oil, aerospace, food and beverage, industrial, cryogenic, architectural, and marine applications. 316 stainless steel round bar boasts high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, including in marine or extremely corrosive environments. It is stronger but less malleable and machinable than 304. 316 stainless rod maintains its properties in cryogenic or high temperatures.
316 Stainless Round bar is stocked in sizes ¼” through 6” round, if you need a size that is not listed to contact us to inquire. This product is dual certified 316/316L.
