Type 347 is a niobium-stabilized chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with corrosion resistance similar to 304/304L. This grade is typically used in the 800-1500?F temperature range, where niobium is added to stabilize chromium carbide precipitation, resulting in niobium carbide precipitation. Alloy 347 is a niobium (niobium)/tantalum stabilized austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel developed to provide improved resistance to intergranular corrosion in type 18-8 alloys.
