Duplex S31803 Disc Lid Fittings are almost never used above 300 degrees Celsius. Although duplex steel S31803 short end butt welded pipe fittings have good high temperature oxidation resistance, this grade – like other duplex stainless steels – can embrittle even for short periods of time if held at temperatures above 300 degrees Celsius. If embrittled, duplex S31803 end caps can only be corrected by full solution annealing. Duplex S31803 Disc Lid Fittings are almost never used above 300 degrees Celsius.

It has excellent resistance to sulfuric acid corrosion; it has strong resistance to phosphoric acid, nitric acid and chloride environments, chloride stress corrosion, pitting corrosion and crack corrosion. Therefore, alloy 20 has the name of anti-corrosion alloy; it has a wide range of applications: such as: chemical, food, medicine, power production and plastics industries will use it. For resistance to pitting corrosion and chloride corrosion, stress corrosion cracking problems, etc., alloy 20 is often used.

About high strength and excellent impact toughness, stress corrosion cracking resistance and high strength are exhibited by its Ferritic nature where as ease of fabrication and corrosion resistances are exhibited by its Austenitic nature. UNS S31803 Pipe Fittings has high applicability where demand for good corrosion resistance and good strength is required. In oxidizing, acidic and caustic environments, it exhibits good resistance towards pitting and crevice corrosion.
