904L N08904 plate highly alloyed chemistry
Stainless Steel 904L Sheets, which is one of many stainless steel grades that can be purchased at our firm.
Alloy 904l (UNS N08904) is a super austenitic stainless steel designed for use in a variety of moderately to highly corrosive environments. The combination of high chromium and nickel content, together with the addition of molybdenum and copper, ensures good to excellent resistance to sulfuric acid corrosion. 904l stainless steel plate material standard ASTM A240 / ASME SA240, ASTM A240 / ASME SA240 is a specification covering chrome-nickel-based stainless steel, which also considers steel plates, 904l sheet and 904l coil designed for pressure vessels and general applications. UNS N08904 stainless steel plate complies with the chemical composition and mechanical properties mentioned in ASTM A240.
ASTM A240 904l plates have a nickel content of 25% and a molybdenum content of 4.5%, so SS 904l plates have good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting and general corrosion, which are better than 316L and 317L. It was developed specifically for environments containing dilute sulfuric acid, DIN 1.4539 has good resistance to hot phosphoric acid, etc.And grade 904L stainless steel sheet is non-magnetic, and offers excellent formability, toughness and weldability.
