Annealing between 1050 and 1080¡ãC is possible after forging, followed by rapid quenching, especially to restore corrosion resistance, but there is no heat treatment to harden the grade. Like 316L and 904L stainless steel, it is a low carbon austenitic stainless steel. However, its chemical composition includes higher amounts of chromium (19-23%) and molybdenum (4-5%), which gives the alloy higher corrosion resistance than 316L.
