1.4529 (UNS N08926) has very high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in halide media and in acidic environments containing sulfur and hydrogen
It can effectively resist chloride ion stress corrosion, and also has good corrosion resistance and good stability in oxidizing and reducing media.
The mechanical properties are slightly better than 904L, and it can be used in the manufacture of pressure vessels from -196 to 400 ¡ãC.

A335 grade P5c pipe is a low alloy carbon steel (Cr-Mo) self-quenching in air where high hardness and residual stress are required for welding and it is not recommended for direct use in services requiring critical conditions. This situation requires the application of post weld heat treatment (PWHT). If you want to avoid PWHT then you can use preheat (120¡ãC) when soldering A335 grade P5c tubes. PWHT is required if the thickness of ASTM A335/ASME SA335 P5c alloy steel pipe is greater than 13 mm.

A335 p9 pipes are made of ferritic alloy steel for high temperature applications. The sa335 p9 material chemically contains metals such as molybdenum and chromium added to the alloy. 800H can resist corrosion of many corrosive media. Its high nickel content makes it resistant to stress corrosion cracking in aqueous corrosion conditions. The high chromium content provides better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion cracking. The alloy has good corrosion resistance to nitric acid and organic acids, but limited corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. Good corrosion resistance in oxidizing and non-oxidizing salts, in addition to the potential for pitting corrosion in halides. It also has good corrosion resistance in water, steam and mixtures of steam, air and carbon dioxide.
