Stainless Steel 316 Round Bar is made up of a stainless steel that is austenitic. The material has chromium, nickel and molybdenum in its composition. The molybdenum content makes the Stainless Steel 316 Round Bar products to be more corrosion resistant than the 304 grade of stainless steel. Stainless Steel 316 Round Bar is made of an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel containing molybdenum. By that type 316 has increased general corrosion resistance, improved resistance to pitting from chloride ion solutions, and provides increased strength at elevated temperatures. The Stainless Steel 316 Round Bar is stronger than 304 at elevated temperatures. The corrosion resistance of Stainless Steel 316 Round Bar is improved, particularly against sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic, formic and tartaric acids; acid sulfates and alkaline chlorides.

 

The ASTM A276 Type 316 Rod is a specification for hot rolled and cold drawn rods except for the forged ones. The material is hard, strong and high temperature capable. It can also be used under the A479 specification as pressure vessel category. The bars are in different forms such as the A479 Gr 316 Flat Bar, round, square, billet, ingot and SS 316 Round Bar. The dimensions vary according to the application requirements. The bars can range from 4mm to 500mm in outer diameters. The length of the bars ranges from 1m to 6m and cut to lengths are available for custom orders as well.
