AL6XN N08367 Stainless Steel Plate Flange known for its durability and resistance to corrosion
A typical AL-6XN weld has non-uniform freeze lines and oxide islands in the weld bead. These oxide islands appear as a thin film, having a varying color with tints from gray to dark brown that adhere to the surface.
The AL-6XN Stainless Steel Flange was developed as an improvement over the AL-6X alloy. Both alloys have the same basic alloy composition except that the AL-6XN alloy contains an intentional addition of 0.18 to 0.25% N. AL-6XN Stainless Steel Flanges are made of an alloy that is a super-austenitic metal developed to resist crevice corrosion, pitting, chloride-induced corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. It can also holdup against alkaline and salt solutions, protecting against metallic contamination of product and preventing corrosion of the fluid transfer system. AL-6XN alloy was originally designed for saltwater uses. This ¡°super alloy¡± resists the assault of corrosive food and beverage products such as: sports drinks, ketchup, soy and barbecue sauce, and salsa. It is also used effectively in chemical, API, cosmetic, brewery, desalination, semi-conductor, aerospace, biopharm, pulp and paper, and gas handling applications.
