Inconel 625 combines heat resistance, corrosion resistance and strength. Inconel 625 fasteners are used in environments ranging from low temperatures to 1800o F (1000o C). Antioxidant is the main feature. Like alloy C276, Inconel 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy. Adding niobium results in a stronger material. Common applications are marine environment and pollution control equipment.

Similar to Inconel grades, Incoloy grade alloys have nickel and chromium as the main base elements. The only difference between these two alloy classes is their chemical composition. Inconel alloys contain almost more than 50% nickel, while Incoloy alloys are not only less than 50% nickel, but the alloys also contain iron. Known as a heat-resistant alloy, Inconel 825 has excellent properties. The most interesting properties of Incoloy 825 fasteners are their high creep resistance and high mechanical strength despite prolonged exposure to heat. The importance of these attributes in particular is considered critical across multiple industries.

Alloy C276 is a nickel, chromium and molybdenum alloy. Hastelloy C276 is designed for excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance in a variety of environments. These alloys also show resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Alloy 31 is a nitrogen-added iron-nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy, and we can supply alloy 31 wrought material to ASTM B637. Alloy 31 has excellent corrosion resistance in acidic and alkaline halide media; excellent resistance to sulfuric acid, even at high concentrations; excellent corrosion and erosion corrosion resistance in phosphoric acid media.

Hastelloy B-3 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to pitting, corrosion and stress corrosion cracking and better thermal stability than alloy B-2. Hastelloy UNS N10675 fasteners are suitable for aircraft, furnace and chemical process components, honeycomb and gas turbine combustion section components.

Monel 400 Bolts and Nuts are made from a nickel-copper alloy for extreme corrosion resistance, especially in sour conditions. The material is also strong and rigid and can be used to produce bolts and nuts for high temperature service. Among the ingredients are carbon, aluminum, manganese, silicon, iron, sulfur and 63% nickel and 28% copper. This composition gives the material a high melting point.

Alloy 400 fasteners have a melting point of 1350 degrees Celsius. The density of the material is higher than most chrome-nickel stainless steels. The density of Monel 400 material is 8.8 grams per cubic centimeter. The strength also exceeds that of the 304, 316 and 310 grades of austenitic stainless steels. The minimum yield strength is 240MPa and the minimum tensile strength is 550MPa. UNS N04400 Studs are made from a single strand of Monel 400 material.

Hastelloy fasteners can be used in applications involving a wide range of media, including reducing acids and oxidizing agents. As the most versatile alloy c276 fastener, it is most commonly used for bolting of all Hastelloy grade fasteners.

Inconel 625 hex bolts are used in a variety of corrosive environments. In sea water applications, Inconel 625 hex bolts remain free from pitting and crevice corrosion. This makes it ideal for marine, submarine and Navy applications. Additionally, Inconel 625 hex bolts can be used in a variety of extreme conditions from heat shields to marine applications.

These Hastelloy B2 are a solid solution strengthened nickel-molybdenum alloy with significant resistance to reducing environments such as hydrogen chloride gas, sulfuric acid, acetic acid and phosphoric acid. Molybdenum is a major alloying element that provides significant corrosion resistance in reducing environments.

The benefits of using 2.4360 (Alloy 400) bolts include their high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. The properties of ASTM F467 400 Monel are maintained in a wide range of acidic and alkaline environments. Alloy 400 bolts are ideal for reduced duty applications.

The chromium content of this alloy results in superior resistance to oxidizing environments. The high molybdenum content makes alloy 625 very resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Alloy 725 (UNS N07725) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy that is highly corrosion resistant and age hardened to twice the strength of annealed alloy 625. The strength of Alloy 725 is increased by heat treatment rather than cold treatment. This also gives strength to large uneven parts that cannot be strengthened by cold work. Alloy 725 is used for hangers, landing joints and high strength fasteners in marine applications.

Inconel 600 Hex Bolts are a family of nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys for high strength and good corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. The high nickel content makes Inconel 600 Heavy Duty Hex Bolts resistant to corrosion by many organic and inorganic compounds and virtually immune to chloride stress corrosion cracking.

Alloy 20 washers provide good performance in hot sulfuric acid, specifically they offer good resistance to stress-corrosion cracking in boiling sulfuric acid at specific range of 20% to 40% concentration, as well as general sulfuric acid resistance. Alloy 20 offers solid acid protection and will perform better than Duplex or even Monel, but for high temperature and high concentration acids, you may need to look to Inconel or Hastelloy fasteners. In addition, Alloy 20 washers also show useful resistance to phosphoric acid and nitric acid.

In Hastelloy C276 hex bolts, the chromium content is increased to about 21% and the molybdenum content is reduced to about 13%. Inconel 625 is a nickel-based super alloy with high strength properties and resistance to corrosion, including H2S and CO2, and elevated temperatures.

Similar to Nimonic 75 alloy with good corrosion and oxidation resistance. Creep rupture and tensile properties are high at 815¡ãC (1500¡ãF). It can be hot worked in the temperature range of 1050-1200¡ãC.

Under alternating oxidizing and reducing conditions the alloy may suffer from selective oxidation.

Hastelloy C-2000 Fastener, also known by many as Alloy C-2000, is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. The C-2000 fastener (UNS N06200) is unique among other Hastelloy alloys with approximately 1.6% copper added to its chemical composition. These properties make them ideal for applications such as heat exchangers and industrial reactors.

Inconel X-750 Nuts are fasteners made from an alloy containing nickel and cobalt as base elements, which contains chromium, with additions of titanium and aluminum. Inconel X-750 fasteners are highly resistant to chemical corrosion and oxidation, with high stress rupture strength and low creep rates at high stresses up to 1500¡ãF (816¡ãC).

The alloy is ductile and readily forms Inconel 601 fasteners. It has high mechanical strength, good toughness and excellent corrosion resistance.

Monel K500 fasteners also have some excellent seawater resistance for marine applications. Monel fasteners also have some high-strength metals that have good toughness at high temperatures.

Hex bolts are used to fasten two or more parts together to form an assembly either because it cannot be manufactured as a single part or to allow for maintenance and repair disassembly. By definition “A Bolt is a headed and externally threaded mechanical device designed for insertion through holes in assembled parts to mate with a nut and is normally intended to be tightened or released by turning that nut.” When used with a preformed internally threaded (tapped) hole, the hex bolt’s head is turned to tighten, which technically makes it a screw (see our Tech Data section for a discussion regarding the differences between bolts and screws). Hex bolts are also known as: hex head bolts, cap screws, hex cap screws, hex head cap screws, machine bolts, hex machine bolts, hex head machine bolts and, if fully threaded, tap bolts, hex tap bolts and hex head tap bolts. A hex bolt is often differentiated from a hex cap screw by its underhead bearing surface: if it has a circular boss, called a washer face, it’s a hex cap screw¡ªif it doesn’t then it’s a hex bolt.

Monel 400 or also known as Nickel 400 is a solid solution alloy that is a high strength material that can be used over a wide temperature range. It also has excellent corrosion resistance and has applications in many areas in marine and chemical processing. It is used in applications such as valves, pumps, fresh water tanks and propeller shafts.

Alloy C-276 has excellent resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking. It is also one of the few materials that can withstand the corrosive effects of wet chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide.

Monel K500 Washers have the same basic iron and carbon composition, but steel also contains a healthy dose of chromium that gives its famous corrosion resistance.

Monel 400 Bolt is a nickel-copper alloy, a solid solution nickel alloy that can only be hardened by cold work. Known for its corrosion resistance to reducing media and seawater, Monel 400 is also tougher than copper alloys in oxidizing environments.
