The ASTM A320 Gr L7 is a material specification for fasteners, bolts, and nuts. They are intended for use in various high temperature applications. Alloys that are suited to low temperatures need to withstand expansion or contraction with a change in the temperature of the ambiance. There needs to be room for the alloy to permit both expansion or contraction depending on the heat available in the surrounding. ASTM A320 Washers is intended for low-temperature service down to -150¡ã F and has a minimum Charpy impact value of 20-ft-lbf at this temperature. The ASTM A320 Grade L7 Bolts are available in different property classes and each has varied properties, including different stress rupture or tensile properties.
