ASTM A182 316L spacer ring a high creep rupture strength

ASTM A182 316L spacer ring a high creep rupture strength

Stainless steel 316 flanges are composed of a chrome-nickel-molybdenum alloy and are typically used in conditions prone to chloride ion corrosion. The addition of molybdenum makes the material resistant to corrosion, especially in chloride-rich environments. 316L stainless steel flanges are the standard molybdenum grade, second only to 304 in austenitic stainless steels.

Adding nitrogen to most low carbon alloys improves their properties. For example, the yield strength and pitting corrosion resistance of ASTM A182 F316L flanges are greatly improved when nitrogen is added to the alloy. Flanges can operate at temperatures up to 870 degrees Celsius. SS 316L slip flange dimensions also vary. Slips on flanges are used to allow pipes to slide through them for better selection of connection points. Flanges range from ?” to 48″ nominal bore.
