ASTM A335 P5 Pipe Alloy Steel Seamless Pipes

Cold drawn and cold rolled tube types are available. There are seamless tubes, welded tubes, ERW tubes and fabricated tubes. Seamless pipe is made from a single piece of material, whereas ASTM A333 Grade 6 Welded Pipe Specification requires it to be welded from strip or sheet of the same material grade.

ASTM A335 P5/ASME SA335 P5 pipe, Chrome content at 4.00% to 6.00 %, Moly content 0.45% to 0.65%. Also called P5 grade Chrome Moly Alloy Pipe, it is in seamless made used for high-temperature and corrosion environment. Corresponding to welded pipe standard in ASTM A691 5CR, made from ASTM A387 Grade 5 steel plate.

 

ASTM A335 P5 pipe material suitable for bending, flanging or vanstoning, fusion welding or machining, depending on different applications. So it could be used to produce pipe fittings like elbow, bend, tee, reducer, caps and flanges or the other equipments for the transmission purposes. The standard will be transformed to the related standard considering different products as below:

Pipe fittings standard: ASTM A234 WP5
Flanges standard: ASTM A182 F5
Steel plates standard: ASTM A387 Grade 5

Equivlanet welded pipe standard: ASTM A691 5CR (ASTM A335 is standard specification for Chrome Moly Alloy Seamless pipe and ASTM A691 is Chrome Moly Alloy Welded Pipe.)
