ASTM B424 UNS N08825 austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy spacer ring
Flanges are used to connect 2 pipes or tubes. They are made up of different materials depending upon the end use.
Alloy 825 (UNESCO N08825) is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium. It was developed to provide excellent resistance to a variety of corrosive environments, including oxidation and reduction. Inconel 825 flanges also resist localized corrosion and avoid pitting and crevice corrosion. In addition, they are resistant to sulfuric and phosphoric acid. They are also resistant to water corrosion, so they can be used in marine applications. The presence of titanium prevents sensitization of grain boundaries.
