C276 Plate Forging Product Display
Plates are designed by continuous rolling and casting or, in most instances, steel is processed into a bullet then hot rolled to be shaped in its final plate thickness. Akin to steel plates, rolled ring forgings are forged in the same process ¨C it differs only in terms of rolling directions.
For cups having comparative large thickness and plates having
complicated cross-sectional shapes, plate forging is more useful than billet forging due to due to
comparatively small change in shape.
Steel plates are often used for structural and construction applications, pressure vessels, marine and offshore equipment, and military applications. The grade, elements and parameters of a steel plate are also imp-ortant in how it is used.
