Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

ASTM A312 TP316 is a standard specification for seamless, straight-seam welded, and heavily cold worked welded austenitic stainless steel pipes used in high-temperature and general corrosive service applications. SAE 304 stainless steel is the most common stainless steel. The steel contains both chromium (between 18% and 20%) and nickel (between 8% and 10.5%)[1] metals as the main non-iron constituents. It is an austenitic stainless steel. It is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel. It is magnetic, but less magnetic than steel. C-22 is used in severely corrosive media with high chloride and temperature applications such as buffer solutions, active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), fabric softeners, cleaning supplies, and fish, soy and chili sauce.

Carbon steel forgings, manufactured in accordance with ASTM A105, are generally used for piping applications. These forged carbon steel piping components (including flanges, fittings, and valves, etc) are used for ambient- and higher-temperature service in pressure systems. The A105N, which is designated with a suffix ¡°N¡±, denotes that the A105 forging shall be furnished in normalized condition. If the forgings are used for piping applications of ASME BPVC or ASME B31, the material shall be its identical equivalent of SA-105 or SA-105N. In short, the heat treatment of normalization distinguishes A105N from A105, or SA-105N from SA-105. ASTM A105 Flange is a specification of flanges. The specification can include different grades of stainless steel material made flanges. The flanges are of forged carbon steel and are meant for high temperature services.

A flange is a ring of steel (forged, cut from plate, or rolled) designed to connect sections of pipe, or to join pipe to a pressure vessel, valve, pump or other integral flanged assembly. Alloy 309 (UNS S30900) is an austenitic stainless steel developed for high temperature corrosion resistant applications. The alloy resists oxidation up to 1900¡ãF (1038¡ãC) under non-cycling conditions. Frequent thermal cycling reduces oxidation resistance to approximately 1850¡ãF (1010¡ãC).

Alloy 800 bolts (WNR 1.4876 bolts) resist embrittlement due to nickel-containing sigma-phase precipitation and chloride stress corrosion cracking. It has further modifications to the combined levels of aluminium and titanium (0.85-1.20%) to ensure optimum high temperature performance. These are called UNS N08800 bolts and are actually for high temperature structural applications. At the same time, the corrosion resistance of these bolts is quite high.
