Stainless Steel A403 WPS31254 contains higher chromium and low carbon content. Lower carbon means less chromium carbide precipitation due to welding. This steel type contains as low as 0.03% of carbon content and thus reduces its susceptibility to intergranular corrosion. Inconel600 is suitable for welding with the same material or other metals by any traditional welding process, such as tungsten electrode inert gas welding, plasma arc welding, manual sub-arc welding, metal inert gas shielded welding, molten arc inert gas shielded welding, and pulsed arc welding. Welding is the preferred solution. When using manual arc welding, it is recommended to use a shielding gas mixed with various components (Ar+He+H2+CO2).
Welding of Incoloy 825 must be carried out in the annealed condition and cleaned with a stainless steel wire brush to remove stains, dust and various markings. When welding the root of the weld, extreme care must be taken (Argon 99.99) to obtain the best quality of the root weld so that the weld does not produce oxides after the root has been welded. Color from the weld heat-affected zone should be removed with a stainless steel brush while the weld area is not cool.

UNS S31803 pipe fittings is a duplex grade with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure. The alloy consists of around 40-50% ferrite in the annealed condition. The duplex microstructure has the high strength of the ferritic grades whilst retaining the corrosion resistance of the austenitic grades.

S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. Each metal is represented by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter represents the metal series, i.e. S for stainless steel.
