Alloy B-2 components should be minimized with alloy B-3 due to its improved thermal stability. A low carbon content permits alloy B-3 to be used in the as-welded condition. The alloy b3 uns n10675 Welded Pipe is an additional member of the nickel- molybdenum based family of alloys. Due to the addition of molybdenum in the Hastelloy B3 Hexagonal Pipe demonstrates excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid, just as the ASTM B619 Hastelloy B2 Welded Pipe. The tendency of austenitic alloys such as these Hastelloy B3 Hexagonal Pipes to crack trans ¨C granularly in chloride solutions decreases as the nickel content of the alloy is increased.
