It demonstrates good resistance to neutral and reducing environments. This alloy creates a tenacious oxide, protective film that does not spall off, but it retains superior oxidation resistance at soaring temperatures.

This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. It also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.

Although HASTELLOY X pipe bend is primarily noted for heat and oxidation resistance it also has good resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking and has good resistance to carburization, excellent resistance to reducing or carburizing atmospheres.

Hastelloy Nickel Alloy B2 is a very chemically resistant alloy with high resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking in the heat affected zone. In particular, this alloy performs well in harsh environments such as sulfuric acid, hydrogen chloride and phosphoric acid. ASTM B619 UNS N10276 Alloy C276 Tube covers 2 classes under this specification. In class 1, the Hastelloy C276 Tube is furnished in an as welded and solution annealed condition or these tubes could be welded along with being sized and solution annealed.

HASTELLOY(r) B-2 is a wrought nickel-molybdenum alloy that can be used in the ¡®as welded¡¯ condition.

Hastelloy C276 Flanges Hastelloy C276 Flanges are made up of the nickel chromium molybdenum alloy that is called hastelloy. The composition includes 50.99% nickel, 14.5% chromium, 15% molybdenum and carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, cobalt, iron and phosphorus in it. The Hastelloy C276 Flanges have high melting point of 1370 degrees Celsius. This high melting point allows for higher operating temperatures of the flanges. The material also has 790MPa minimum tensile strength and 355MPa minimum yield strength.

Alloy C-276 is also defined as Alloy C276, Inconel C 276 or Hastelloy C, which is a superalloy with a perfect combination of molybdenum, nickel and chromium. Tungsten is added, which is designed to provide excellent corrosion resistance even in harsh environments.

Hastelloy X is a nickel-based superalloy ideal for gas turbine engine, aircraft, industrial furnace, and chemical processing applications.

They have good creep and oxidation resistance. Strengthening of super alloys is performed by solid-solution hardening, work hardening, and precipitation hardening methods.

The material is resistant to chlorides and acids so that the primary uses are in the acid processing, chemical, sea water and marine applications.

Hastelloy B3 is molybdenum and nickel alloys family additional member with greater hydrochloric acid resistance at various concentrations and temperatures. It is withstanding formic, sulphuric and phosphoric acid as well as non-oxidizing acids.

Nickel Alloy C-276 and Hastelloy C-276 can be welded by all common welding methods (oxyacetylene is not recommended).

Machining of Hastelloy UNS N10276 polished plates is best done in the annealed condition. Since this particular alloy grade is prone to work hardening, only low cutting speeds are required.

In chemical processing, the alloy is used for components including heat exchangers, reaction vessels, evaporators and transfer piping.

Controlling other alloying elements such as iron and chromium

Although there are several variations of the Hastelloy nickel alloy, Hastelloy C-276 is by far the most widely used.

Hastelloy C276 Bolts and Nuts can be used in harsh and harsh environments including acid, alkaline, brackish and salt water environments. Hastelloy c276 hex bolts are used in acetic and organic acid production plants. The material has excellent acid resistance to strong oxidants. Hastelloy C276 fasteners are fasteners made from an alloy containing nickel as the base element, which contains chromium and molybdenum, with the addition of tungsten.
