The Corrosion Resistant HASTELLOY alloys are widely used by the chemical processing industries. The need for reliable performance leads to their acceptance and growth in the areas of energy, health and environmental, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and flue gas desulfurization industries.

It demonstrates good resistance to neutral and reducing environments. This alloy creates a tenacious oxide, protective film that does not spall off, but it retains superior oxidation resistance at soaring temperatures.

It is able to withstand a wide range of oxidizing and non-oxidizing chemicals, and exhibits outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. It also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.

The low carbon content in the 2.4819 alloy C276 tube minimizes carbide precipitation. Carbide precipitation is a phenomenon that occurs during welding of various alloy grades.

Hastelloy can be used with all common welding methods, but oxyacetylene and submerged arc processes are not recommended when the manufactured product is intended for corrosion service.

Alloy X pipe bend specimens showed no carburization at all. Of ten materials evaluated in an atmosphere of hydrogen, nitrogen and ammonia at 1100 Deg. F. and 25,00 psi for 64 days, Alloy X had a nitride case less than one-fourth as thick as the closest competitive material without intergranular attack.

These Hastelloy C276 contain a mixture of molybdenum, nickel and chromium species. Like other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easy to form and weld, and has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking (a form of easily degradable austenitic stainless steel) in chloride-containing solutions. Due to its high chromium and molybdenum content, it is resistant to oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids and exhibits excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

These Hastelloy B2 Weld Neck Flanges should not be used in oxidizing media or where oxidizing contaminants are available in reducing media.

HASTELLOY(r) C276 can be formed by cold working using conventional techniques.

Hastelloy C-4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with outstanding high temperature stability. It has high ductility and corrosion resistance. It’s high temperature resistance up to 1900 ¡ãF (1038 ¡ãC) makes it suitable for most chemical process application in the “as” welded condition.
Like other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easy to form and weld, and possesses exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions (a form of degradation to
which the austenitic stainless steels are prone). With its high chromium and molybdenum
contents, it is able to withstand both oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids, and is resistant to
pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

Hastelloy c22 fasteners are also resistant to wear in high temperature atmospheres and corrosive environments.
