Hastelloy can be used with all common welding methods, but oxyacetylene and submerged arc processes are not recommended when the manufactured product is intended for corrosion service.

Hastelloy offer very good resistance to strong reducing and moderately oxidizing corrosive acids, as well excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance and resistance to localized attack.

Hastelloy C22 bar contains a high amount of nickel-molybdenum-chromium superalloy as well as tungsten and is designed to provide excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of harsh environments. C-22 is a great alternative when superaustenitic stainless steels (AL-6XN, 904L, and 254 SMO) and duplex stainless steels (2205 and 2507) will not withstand extremely aggressive media. Alloy 22 (UNS N06022) is the most versatile Nickel Chromium Molybdenum Tungsten alloy with controlled Iron. Due to Alloy 22’s content this alloy exhibits excellent resistance to both oxidising and reducing acid environments as well as those containing mixed acids.
