Nickel Inconel 601 is a member of the austenitic nickel-chromium based super alloys. It is used for applications that require extremely high resistance to heat, and very high resistance to oxidation and corrosion at higher temperatures. It has excellent mechanical properties and is easily workable with standard procedures.

UNS N08811 not only good corrosion resistance in both oxidation resistance and non-oxidizing salt, maybe a little pitting in halide, but also very good corrosion resistance property in the mixture of water,smoke, steam,air and carbon dioxide.

Inconel Pipe 601 contains molybdenum and columbium, which stiffens and strengthens the nickel-chromium matrix without precipitation hardening treatments. Some hardening however does occur when heated to intermediate temperatures increasing room temperature strength. Also, this alloy retains over 75% of its room temperature strength at 1200 F.
