It demonstrates good resistance to neutral and reducing environments. This alloy creates a tenacious oxide, protective film that does not spall off, but it retains superior oxidation resistance at soaring temperatures.

This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. It also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.

It is able to withstand a wide range of oxidizing and non-oxidizing chemicals, and exhibits outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

This nickel-molybdenum alloy is typically used under extreme reducing conditions and has a much lower composition of carbon, silicon and iron than Hastelloy B (Alloy B). Screws made from this alloy are also known as UNS N10665 fasteners.

HASTELLOY C-4 alloy (UNS N06455) is the most (microstructurally) stable of the widely
used nickel-chromium-molybdenum materials, which are well known for their resistance
to many aggressive chemicals, in particular hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and chlorides. This alloy resists the formation of grain-boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, thus making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition.

It can be used in reducing chemical environments and chemical processing industry.

C22 has excellent resistance to chloride-induced localized corrosion, including pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.

c276 is highly resistant to most chemicals and corrosive environments. The anti-corrosion and anti-oxidative properties come from the composition of chromium and molybdenum.

Hastelloy X fasteners, also known as UNS N06002 fasteners, have excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature strength. It is very resistant to stress corrosion cracking but has excellent ductility when subjected to 16,00 hours of torture at temperatures up to 1,600F. It is also suitable for furnaces, heaters and many high temperature applications because it is weldable, heat treatable and relatively easy to machine.
