hastelloy c276 corrosion resistance N10276 PMI testing

In the case of Hastelloy-C276, the corrosion product was primarily a protective chromium oxide scale, although slightly thicker regions of the same oxide formed at the site of microcracks on the metal surface. Very little carburization was observed in this alloy before exposure for at least 1000 hours.

Hastelloy C276 is a tungsten-added nickel-molybdenum-chromium superalloy designed for excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of harsh environments. The high nickel and molybdenum contents make nickel steel alloys particularly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Alloy C-276 Wire or 2.4819 is a versatile corrosion resistant deformation alloy made primarily of nickel molybdenum and chromium. This alloy has excellent resistance to localized corrosion and to reducing and oxidizing media.
