The Corrosion Resistant HASTELLOY alloys are widely used by the chemical processing industries. The need for reliable performance leads to their acceptance and growth in the areas of energy, health and environmental, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and flue gas desulfurization industries.

It demonstrates good resistance to neutral and reducing environments. This alloy creates a tenacious oxide, protective film that does not spall off, but it retains superior oxidation resistance at soaring temperatures.

Hastelloy C2000 is available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses, this type of nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy is renowned for its superior strength and corrosion resistance.

Hastelloy C2000 Tubes are used in a broad range of industries including petrochemical processing, chemical processing equipment manufacturing, oil refineries and power plants.

This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. It also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.

It is able to withstand a wide range of oxidizing and non-oxidizing chemicals, and exhibits outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

ASTM B619 UNS N10276 Alloy C276 Tube covers 2 classes under this specification. In class 1, the Hastelloy C276 Tube is furnished in an as welded and solution annealed condition or these tubes could be welded along with being sized and solution annealed.

Hastelloy C-2000 Fastener, also known by many as Alloy C-2000, is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. The C-2000 fastener (UNS N06200) is unique among other Hastelloy alloys with approximately 1.6% copper added to its chemical composition. These properties make them ideal for applications such as heat exchangers and industrial reactors. Hastelloy C2000 fasteners combine the excellent resistance to oxidizing media of C276 with excellent resistance to non-oxidizing environments, making it a unique alloy for protecting chemical process equipment under a variety of conditions, including fluids contaminated with iron ions .

Other corrosives Hastelloy C-22 has resistance to are oxidizing acid chlorides, wet chlorine, formic and acetic acids, ferric and cupric chlorides, sea water, brine and many mixed or contaminated chemical solutions, both organic and inorganic.

The corrosion resistance property of the alloy is credited to the addition of both Molybdenum and nickel.

Hastelloy C22 threaded flanges have the best weldability.

HASTELLOY C-2000 alloy is available in the form of plates, sheets, strips, billets, bars, wires, pipes, tubes, and covered electrodes. Typical chemical process industry (CPI) applications include reactors and heat exchangers.

The flange is second most used joining method after selding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexibility for maintenance. Flange connects the pipe with various equipment and valves. Breakup flanges are added in the pipeline system if regular maintenance in required during plant operation.
A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrdlated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. Special controls are required in the selection and application of all there elements to attain a joint, which has acceptable leak tightness.
A flange is a protruded ridge, lip or rim, either external or internal, that serves to increase strength (as the flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or a T-beam); for easy attachment/transfer of contact force with another object (as the flange on the end of a pipe, steam cylinder, etc., or on the lens mount of a camera); or for stabilizing and guiding the movements of a machine or its parts (as the inside flange of a rail car or tram wheel, which keep the wheels from running off the rails). The term “flange” is also used for a kind of tool used to form flanges.

C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium superalloy with tungsten added, designed for excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of harsh environments. The high nickel and molybdenum contents make nickel steel alloys particularly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in reducing environments, while chromium is resistant to oxidizing media.

All of the common methods of welding can be used to weld Hastelloy C-276 alloy, although the oxyacetylene process is not recommended. Special precautions should be taken to avoid excessive heat input.

Hastelloy C276 material is designed with good mechanical properties. They have a minimum tensile strength of 601Mpa and a minimum yield strength of 204Mpa. This material makes the alloy easy to machine and elongate.

Hastelloy C276 bushings are widely used in the harshest environments such as chemical processing, pollution control, pulp and paper, industrial and municipal waste treatment, and recovery of sour natural gas.

Hastelloy C-22 (UNS N06022) pipe bends and fittings in stock, allowing for a quick turnaround. Hastelloy C-22 has excellent resistance to aggressive oxidizing aqueous media including wet chlorine and mixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chlorine ions.

Alloy X pipe bend is equally suitable for use in jet engine tailpipes, afterburner components, turbine blades, nozzle vanes, cabin heaters, and other aircraft parts.

The high molybdenum content of Hastelloy?* C276 provides the alloy with its excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.

The heat-affected weld zones have reduced precipitation of carbides and other phases to ensure uniform corrosion resistance.

Hastelloy B3 Blind Flanges have good creep, and oxidation¡¯s resistance. Hastelloy B3 Weld Neck Flanges isn¡¯t recommended for use in the presence of ferric or cupric mariners because these mariners can bring unseasonable failure.

Alloy N10675 is a high corrosion resistant nickel molybdenum Alloy. This alloy is characterized by a high resistance against hydrochloric acid and other reducing media in a wide range of temperature and concentration.

HASTELLOY C-276 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with universal corrosion resistance unmatched by any other alloy. It has outstanding resistance to a wide variety of chemical process environments including ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated mineral acids, solvents, chlorine and chlorine contaminated (both organic and inorganic), dry chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, sea water and brine solutions and hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions. Alloy C276 also resists formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone making it useful for most chemical processes in the as-welded condition. It has excellent resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking.

Strengthening of super alloy Hastelloy B2 pipe bend is performed by solid-solution hardening, work hardening, and precipitation hardening methods.

It is used in flue gas desulfurization systems because of its excellent resistance to sulfur compounds and chloride ions encounted in most scrubbers.

Nickel alloys provide high resistance to a wide variety of corrosive agents, oxidation and excellent performance at high temperatures.Certain Nickel Alloys are better for high temperature applications, while others do a better job with corrosion resistance.

Hastelloy C-4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with outstanding high temperature stability. It has high ductility and corrosion resistance. It’s high temperature resistance up to 1900 ¡ãF (1038 ¡ãC) makes it suitable for most chemical process application in the “as” welded condition.
Like other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easy to form and weld, and possesses exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions (a form of degradation to
which the austenitic stainless steels are prone). With its high chromium and molybdenum
contents, it is able to withstand both oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids, and is resistant to
pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

It is commonly referred to by the tradename Hastelloy C22 and the universal designation UNS N06022. C22 has excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance, great mechanical properties over a wide range of temperatures, and good fabrication properties.

Nickel- and cobalt-based corrosion-, temperature- and wear-resistant alloys, such as Hastelloy B2, are classified as moderate to difficult when machined, but it should be emphasized that these alloys can be produced at satisfactory speeds using conventional production methods processing. During machining, these alloys harden rapidly, generate high heat during cutting, weld to the cutting tool surface, and provide high resistance to metal removal due to their high shear strength.

Hastelloy B3 Weld Neck Flange is not recommended for use in the presence of ferric or cupric salts because these salts can cause premature failure.

Alloy C-276 prevents the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone, making it useful in most welding conditions for chemical processes.

Hastelloy C-276 alloy can be forged, hot-upset, and impact extruded. Although the alloy tends to work-harden, it can be successfully deep-drawn, spun, press formed or punched.
