Hastelloy C276 grade round bars can be used in FGD systems due to their excellent resistance to sulfur-containing compounds and chloride ions encountered in most scrubbers. Alloy C276 Hastelloy bar also has excellent resistance to localized corrosion such as pitting, and the alloy is resistant to stress-related corrosion cracking.

Hastelloy C276 is alloyed with nickel, molybdenum and chromium, which gives it some excellent mechanical properties. Hastelloy C276 round bars are known for their corrosion resistance. Like other alloys composed of nickel, Hastelloy C276 round bars are highly formable, ductile and weldable. It is also known for increased resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments.
