Hastelloy C276 Round Head Bolts minimizes carbide precipitation during welding
It is used in flue gas desulfurization systems because of its excellent resistance to sulfur compounds and chloride ions encounted in most scrubbers.
Hastelloy C276 replaced Alloy C (UNS N10002), which contained slightly less chromium and molybdenum. The most common grade for Hastelloy fasteners is Hastelloy C276 (2.4819), which is the one of the most versatile of the corrosion resistant nickel alloys ¨C exceeding that of Inconel or Monel. The high nickel, molybdenum and tungsten content make it expensive when compared to austenitic stainless. By far, it is the most popular Super Alloy. Hastelloy fasteners are also available in other specialty grades that can address more niche corrosion issues.
