Hastelloy X pipe bend UNS N06002 pipe fittings nickel base superalloys for gas turbine engine combustion zone components
Two criteria for evaluating oxidation resistance are weight change and depth of corrosion penetration. HASTELLOY X pipe bend excels in both respects due to the formation of a protective, tenacious oxide film.
The work hardening rate of alloy is similar to the austenitic stainless steels. Good machining in the annealed form. It is weldable by fusion and resistance welding procedures. Hastelloy X is weldable through manual as well as automatic methods such as shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc and gas metal arc welding processes. Additionally, Hastelloy DIN 2.4665 Hot Rolled pipe bends are corrosion resistant, heat resistant and oxidation resistant, being able to withstand reducing or neutral atmospheres and oxidation. The alloy forms an oxide layer upon first exposure to the oxidizing atmosphere and the oxide layer acts as a barrier for further oxidation.
