Due to the chemical composition of Molybdenum (Mo) and Chromium (Cr), A335 is often referred to as Chromium Molybdenum Tube. Molybdenum increases the strength of the steel as well as the elastic limit, wear resistance, impact quality and hardenability. Molybdenum increases resistance to softening, inhibits grain growth, and makes chromium steel less susceptible to embrittlement.
