Nickel-based alloys are very useful materials for making high-quality tubular products. One of the key reasons is their excellent corrosion resistance in both waterborne and high temperature applications.
The nickel-iron-chromium alloy has the same basic composition as Alloy 800, but has a significantly higher creep rupture strength. Higher strength results from tight control of carbon, aluminum and titanium content and high temperature annealing. For chemical and petrochemical processing, superheater and reheater piping in power plants, industrial furnaces and heat treatment equipment.
Nickel alloys are ideal for heat exchangers in chemical processing and the nuclear industry. They are used in steam generator piping in the nuclear power industry, high temperature aircraft systems, and oil and gas extraction projects that require corrosion-resistant, pressure- and temperature-resistant piping. Their corrosion resistance also makes them useful in desalination plants.
