Incoloy 800 N08800 heat pipes with flanges
Their Inconel surface becomes corrosion resistant due to the formation of patina. Incoloy material has a higher iron content and is less expensive than Inconel products. They are also resistant to corrosion from a variety of materials, including steam and acids. These materials are resistant to seawater, acid gas and saltwater environments.
INCOLOY Alloy 825 (UNS N08825 / W.Nr. 2.4858) is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with added molybdenum, copper and titanium. The alloy’s chemical composition is designed to provide superior resistance to many corrosive environments.
In nuclear power plants it is used in steam generator piping. This alloy is often used in the sheath of electric heating elements of household appliances. In pulp production, cooking liquid heaters are usually made of Alloy 800. In petroleum processing, alloys are used in heat exchangers that air cool process streams.
