Inconel 718 sheet, plate and coils are typically made of molybdenum-chromium-nickel alloy and have been designed and developed to resist a wide range of corrosive environments. It even exhibits resistance in crevice and pitting corrosion environments. This nickel-based steel alloy exhibits excellent creep rupture and high tensile and yield properties at elevated temperatures. At low temperatures, the product can be used for extended periods of time up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. Allows for age hardening, allows for annealing and welding, differentiates Inconel 718 with niobium added. At the same time, welding of 718 alloy plates under aging conditions can lead to the formation of softening heat-affected zones. Alloy 718 coils are also used in wellhead completion equipment and blowout preventers (BOPs). Nickel 718 sheet has excellent creep rupture strength at 1300 degrees Fahrenheit (700 degrees Celsius).
