Inconel 718 round bar high tensile round bar N07718 nickel alloy round bar

The high performance alloy Inconel 718 round bar inherently derives many good properties from nickel. Inconel 718 bar falls within the scope of the ASTM B637 specification, which in turn covers nickel-based hot-worked and cold-worked precipitation hardening alloys.

Like most nickel alloys, the chemistry of ASTM B637 UNS N07718 is designed for use at elevated temperatures. Inconel 718 bars are precipitation hardened to optimize the alloy’s tensile strength properties. At the same time, the precipitation hardening alloy, with corrosion resistance and high strength, has excellent weldability. Excellent creep rupture strength at temperatures up to 700C. Uses include gas turbines, rocket engines, nuclear reactors and pumps. In addition, the addition of Nb, Ti, Al, and Ni forms a series of precipitates during the controlled solution annealing and aging process steps, resulting in significant increases in strength and hardness compared to alternative nickel alloys. These tensile and creep rupture properties remain unchanged from low to high temperatures, making them suitable for applications between -250 o C – 650 o C.
