All stainless steel fabrication can only be done using tools designed for stainless steel materials. Tools and work surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned before use. These precautions are necessary to avoid cross-contamination of stainless steel with easily corroded metals that may discolor the surface of processed products.

HASTELLOY X is a wrought nickel-based alloy with excellent high temperature strength and oxidation resistance. All product forms are excellent in forming and welding. Although HASTELLOY X is primarily known for its heat and oxidation resistance, it also has good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and good carburization, as well as excellent resistance to reducing or carburizing atmospheres. Alloy X is one of the most widely used nickel-based superalloys for gas turbine engine components.

AL-6XN is a low carbon, nitrogen containing super austenitic stainless steel. The alloy is designed to be a seawater resistant material and has been found to resist a wide range of corrosive environments. Due to the alloy’s corrosion resistance and high strength, AL-6XN is a better choice than traditional duplex stainless alloys and more cost-effective nickel-based alloys.

Grade 304 stainless steel is generally considered the most common austenitic stainless steel. It contains a high nickel content, typically between 8 and 10.5 weight percent, and a substantial amount of chromium around 18 to 20 weight percent. Other major alloying elements include manganese, silicon and carbon. The rest of the chemical composition is mainly iron.

Type 304 is the most popular stainless steel and is a natural choice for its corrosion resistance. It resists rusting in many different environments, but is primarily attacked by chlorides.

The trade name for Hastelloy B2 tube is also known as UNS N10665. B2 Hastelloy Welded Pipe is a solid solution nickel molybdenum based alloy. One of the highlights of the nickel alloy b2-lined hex pipe is its corrosion resistance.

Nickel alloy 825 seamless pipe is particularly resistant to sulfuric and phosphoric acid. Known as WNR 2.4858 seamless pipe, this nickel steel alloy is used in chemical processing, pollution control equipment, oil and gas well piping, nuclear fuel reprocessing, acid production and pickling equipment.

ASTM A106 is the same as ASME SA-106 and is the standard specification for carbon steel seamless pipe for high temperature service. It covers pipe sizes from NPS 1/8 [DN 6] to NPS 48 [DN 1200] with nominal wall thicknesses given in ASME B36.10M.

Alloy 825 flat bar (UNS N08825) has good mechanical properties from low to moderately high temperatures. However, exposure to temperatures above 1000 degrees Fahrenheit can cause microstructural changes that significantly reduce ductility and impact strength.

Monel 400 is a popular high performance nickel copper alloy commonly used in critical and high performance applications. Monel 400? has high strength, excellent resistance to acid and alkaline environments, and good ductility and thermal conductivity. This alloy maintains its properties and performance in temperatures ranging from subzero to 1,000¡ãF (538¡ãC). Monel 400 can only be hardened by cold work.

Monel 400 flanges are also available for higher temperatures in reduction environments. While Monel 400 flanges are typically used at elevated temperatures, they retain their mechanical properties at sub-zero temperatures. The increased hardness at freezing temperatures has been shown to only slightly impair the ductility or impact resistance of Monel 400 flanges.

Alloy 601 nickel tube has excellent high temperature performance, resistance to oxidation, carburization and sulfur-containing atmospheres.

Inconel WERKSTOFF NR. 2.4851 Pipe has attractive properties such as its high mechanical strength and the ability of ASTM B167 Inconel 601 Seamless Pipe to be easily formed, machined and welded.

2.4851 Pipes are known to have a high degree of metallurgical stability. The base nickel content, combined with the substantial chromium content added to Inconel 601 seamless pipe, is not only resistant to many environments containing corrosive media, but also to high temperature environments.

UNS N06601 welded pipe is used in countless industries, key industries including aerospace, heat treatment, chemical processing, pollution control and power generation.

The optimum conditions for Alloy 601 seamless pipe depend on the type of application and the service temperatures involved. Generally, Alloy 601 pipe in solution treated condition is used in fracture-limited applications, where temperatures can be as high as about 1000¡ãF and still may rise.

The properties of Inconel 601 make it a material with a wide range of uses in thermal processing, chemical processing, pollution control, aerospace and power generation. However, Alloy 601 is not recommended for use in strongly reducing, sulfur-containing environments.
