Cupro Nickel Forged forgings are annealed at temperatures between 593 and 816 degrees Celsius (1100 and 1500 degrees Fahrenheit). Copper-nickel forged threaded crosses are still widely used in modern shipbuilding.

Cooling units in many desalination plants and power plants use seawater to keep equipment cool, but salt water is a problem and can cause corrosion in pipes. Alloy 70/30 copper-nickel alloy is known for its excellent corrosion, corrosion and pitting resistance as well as good strength, machinability and weldability. Alloy 70/30 flanges and fittings are known to prevent hydrogen embrittlement and maintain their mechanical properties even at low temperatures.

254SMO is non-magnetic, may be easier to weld, and has a wider operating temperature range when used with super duplex stainless steel. However, due to its higher nickel and molybdenum content, it is much more expensive and much less strong.

INCONEL Alloy 718 (UNS N07718/W.Nr. 2.4668 ) is a high strength, high temperature and corrosion resistant nickel-chromium alloy. It is suitable for use in low temperatures and in air up to 1300 F. The alloy is easy to work and can be age hardened.
