Monel 400 2.4360 big diameter pipes butt weld flanges
As a corrosion resistant alloy, Monel 400 can withstand high temperature steam environments and fast flowing brackish/seawater, while maintaining excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in most fresh waters.
Alloy 400 has excellent resistance to cavitation and erosion in fast-flowing brackish or seawater. It is particularly resistant to hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids when degassed. Alloy 400 is slightly magnetic at room temperature.
Alloy 400 (UNS N04400) is a nickel-copper alloy with high strength (comparable to structural steel) and toughness. Alloy 400 also has excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of media including seawater, hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid and alkalis. Used in marine engineering, chemical, hydrocarbon processing equipment and heat exchangers.
