Monel 400 bending radius is expressed in relation to the pipe¡¯s outer diameter. If the radius is equal to the pipes diameter then the radius is 1D. A pipe bend is a fastener used to attach two pieces of conduit, pipe, or chain for a more efficient surface for shipping or another application where strength is required. Pipe bends are often made from steel or cast iron. They are available in a variety of diameters and materials. Steel pipe bends are similar with elbows to some extent, they have same angle degree, thickness and size. The only difference is the pipe bending radius. Pipe elbow has LR (1.5D) & SR (1D) only. While bends R¡Ý3D (R= 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, 7D, 8D, 9D, 10D) D means outside diameter. Its advantage is that it can match long distance transition requirements, so bend dimensions are commonly designed according to customer requirements.
