Monel K500 nickel alloy Type B Narrow ASME B18.21.1 round head bolt

Monel bolts, such as Monel 400 and K500, are made of nickel-copper alloys and exhibit high strength, toughness and good corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range. A standout feature of Monel bolts is their excellent resistance to hydrofluoric acid, a particularly difficult acid to handle, at all concentrations up to the boiling point. For hydrofluoric acid applications, Monel bolts are probably the most corrosion resistant of all commonly used specialty alloys.

Thanks to the addition of aluminum and titanium, this nickel-copper alloy can be precipitation hardened. It combines the corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with the added benefits of ultra-high strength and hardness (derived from its age hardening ability). Monel K500 alloy has excellent corrosion resistance while having higher strength and hardness than Monel 400. This is because Al, Ti and other elements are added to the alloy, and after a certain heat treatment, there are dispersed intermetallic compounds on the matrix.
