nickel alloy Hastelloy B2 N10665 pipes with flanges
Alloy B-2 has poor corrosion resistance to oxidizing environments, therefore, it is not recommended for use in oxidizing media or in the presence of iron or copper salts, which may cause rapid premature corrosion failure.
Hastelloy B-2 should not be exposed to temperatures in the 1000 – 1600¡ãF range as its ductility will be severely lost. In a vacuum, Hastelloy B-2 can be used from 1600¡ãF to higher temperatures.
Hastelloy B2 prevents grain boundary carbide deposits from forming in the weld heat affected zone, making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded state. The heat affected weld zone reduces the precipitation of carbides and other phases to ensure uniform corrosion resistance.
