The Corrosion Resistant HASTELLOY alloys are widely used by the chemical processing industries. The need for reliable performance leads to their acceptance and growth in the areas of energy, health and environmental, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and flue gas desulfurization industries.

It demonstrates good resistance to neutral and reducing environments. This alloy creates a tenacious oxide, protective film that does not spall off, but it retains superior oxidation resistance at soaring temperatures.

It is able to withstand a wide range of oxidizing and non-oxidizing chemicals, and exhibits outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. It also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.

Hastelloy C2000 Tubes are used in a broad range of industries including petrochemical processing, chemical processing equipment manufacturing, oil refineries and power plants.

Hastelloy X alloy is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy with excellent oxidation resistance and high temperature strength, while still being easy to manufacture. It has also been found to be extremely resistant to stress corrosion cracking in petrochemical applications. This alloy exhibits good ductility after prolonged exposure to temperatures of 1200¡ã, 1400¡ã and 1600¡ã (650¡ã, 760¡ã, 870¡ã Celsius) for up to 16,000 hours.

Hastelloy G30 Hastelloy alloys exhibit better resistance to commercial phosphoric acid than other nickel or iron based alloys. Its application as an acid evaporator in the fertilizer industry is increasing day by day.

The Hastelloy stainless steel plates are having low-carbon they can also withstand to the corrosive effect of the wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide.

The flange is second most used joining method after welding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexbility for maintenance. Flange connects the pipe with various equiment and valves. Breakup flanges are adde din the pipeline system if regular maintenance in required during plant operation.
A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrelated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. Special controls ae required in the selection and application of all these elements to attain a joint, which has acceotable leak tightness.

These salts may develop when hydrochloric acid comes in contact with iron and copper. Therefore, if this alloy is used in conjunction with iron or copper piping in a system containing hydrochloric acid, the presence of these salts could cause the alloy to fail prematurely.

Process piping systems rarely travel in a straight line from process to process.

Hastelloy Nickel Alloy B2 is a very chemically resistant alloy with high resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking in the heat affected zone. In particular, this alloy performs well in harsh environments such as sulfuric acid, hydrogen chloride and phosphoric acid. This nickel-molybdenum alloy is typically used under extreme reducing conditions and has a much lower composition of carbon, silicon and iron than Hastelloy B (Alloy B). Screws made from this alloy are also known as UNS N10665 fasteners.

Hastelloy C276 low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation during welding to maintain corrosion resistance of welded structures. This nickel alloy resists the formation of grain boundary deposits in the weld heat-affected zone, making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded state.

Alloy B-3 also withstands sulfuric, acetic, formic and phosphoric acids, and other non-oxidizing media.

Hastelloy DIN NR. 2.4819 Pipe is a nickel based superalloy. Apart from its primary base alloying element, the alloy for Hastelloy C276 Pipe also contains elements molybdenum & chromium, which results in the alloy gaining certain properties.

The material is resistant to chlorides and acids so that the primary uses are in the acid processing, chemical, sea water and marine applications.

Superalloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by methods such as precipitation hardening, solution hardening and work hardening. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperature and where high surface stability is required.

The applications range from chemical, petrochemical, power generation and OEM manufacturing industry as well other applications where vibration, high pressure or extremely corrosive conditions exist.

Hastelloy C276 alloy, UNS N10276, 2.4819, is the most widely used and versatile corrosion resistant nickel alloy.

Hastelloy C276 sheet and plate in wear resistant stainless steel. It provides excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in very high temperature environments; its high tensile strength provides extreme thermal stability.

This alloy of flanges ensures excellent formability and weldability. Therefore these are cold and hot worked.

Hastealloy is a term that refers to a group of corrosion resistant metal mixtures that are based on nickel. Hastealloys have a unique combination of properties that provide them with significantly stronger corrosion resistance capabilities compared to traditional alloys. As such, it was widely accepted in the chemical process and associated industries, and now has a 50-year-old track record of proven performance in a vast number of corrosive chemicals.

C-276 alloy has excellent resistance to pitting and to stress-corrosion cracking. It is also one of the few materials that withstands the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide.

Hastelloy G30 is a nickel-based alloy with a high chromium content that provides superior corrosion resistance to commercial phosphoric acid and many highly oxidizing acid media.

HASTELLOY X pipe bend is recommended especially for use in furnace applications because it has unusual resistance to oxidizing, reducing, and neutral atmospheres.

Hastelloy C22 alloy includes nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten, which result in extreme resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking.

Hastelloy C276 alloy has excellent resistance to a variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizing agents (such as ferric chloride and cupric chloride), hot fouling media (organic and inorganic), chlorine, formic and acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and seawater and saline solution. In fact, these Hastelloy c276 fasteners can be used in oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900¡ãF. Additionally, Hastelloy c276 hex bolts tend to perform extremely well in high pressure environments. For example, ASTM B574 bolts perform well at pressures around 5400 kPa during acid leaching.

Hastelloy C276 alloy hollow rods tend to exhibit excellent resistance to localized corrosion and oxidizing media as well as reducing media.

The thermal stability of Hastelloy B3 pipes is superior.

Hastelloy B3 Threaded Flange (UNS N10675) has great resistance to knife ¨C line and heat ¨C affected zone attack. Hastelloy B3 Slip On Flange has a special chemistry designed to achieve greater thermal stability than B-2 alloy, resulting in easier fabrication. Hastelloy B3 Spectacle Blind Flanges have good creep and oxidation resistance.

The outstanding oxidation resistance of HASTELLOY X pipe bend is illustrated below. Tests were conducted by exposing samples to dry air at 2000 Deg. F. and to dry air pressurized to 300 psi at 1750 Deg. F.

Hastelloy 276 bolts and fasteners are suitable for most chemical applications in the welded condition. However, it should be noted that in environments where C-276 alloy weld joints are subject to attack, C-22 weld filler material should be considered. Hastelloy C276 socket head cap screws also have excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900¡ãF.

Hastelloy C276 grade round bars can be used in FGD systems due to their excellent resistance to sulfur-containing compounds and chloride ions encountered in most scrubbers. Alloy C276 Hastelloy bar also has excellent resistance to localized corrosion such as pitting, and the alloy is resistant to stress-related corrosion cracking. Hastelloy C276 N10276 Bright Bar is also one of the few materials that can withstand the corrosive effects of chlorine in the form of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide.

Although there are several variations of the Hastelloy nickel alloy, Hastelloy C-276 is by far the most widely used.
