For industrial purposes, in pipeline systems, we usually need to change the direction of transmission; regulate the flow of fluids (oil and gas, water, mud); open or close pipelines, etc. Therefore, to accomplish these activities, steel pipe fittings will be applied.

Alloy 400 is virtually immune to chloride stress corrosion cracking in typical environments. Generally, its corrosion resistance is good in reducing environment, but poor in oxidizing environment.
