rolled duplex coil coil prime quality 1.4462 plate
At temperatures above 300¡ãC, the brittle trace components of 2205 precipitate, and at temperatures below -50¡ãC, the trace components undergo a ductile-brittle transition; therefore, this grade of stainless steel is not suitable for use at these temperatures.
Although 2205 duplex stainless steel sheet cannot be hardened by heat treatment, its strength and hardness can be greatly increased by cold working processes, which in turn reduce its ductility. Therefore duplex 2205 sheet suppliers recommend that this alloy is widely used in the fields – marine, pulp and paper, oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, transportation and related processing industries. Despite the thinner cross-section, the performance remains the same. Additionally, this weight-saving alternative is priced competitively with austenitic stainless steel alloys 316L or 317L. Like the low carbon version of the austenitic alloy, the Duplex 2205 sheet also has a significant addition of nitrogen, thereby enhancing its already excellent tensile properties.
